La talentuosa cantautrice londinese Sienna Spiro ha pubblicato ad inizio Luglio il suo album di debutto “Visitor“, certificando ad oggi oltre un milione di copie vendute in tutto il mondo. Il lavoro di questa artista è una fusione sofisticata ed elegante tra il soul intenso e profondo e pop sinfonico, che esplora la fragilità intrinseca della vita e dell’Amore.
Ad Ottobre partirà per il tour mondiale “My House”. Le tappe nordamericane e quelle nell’Unione Europea e nel Regno Unito, così come la maggior parte delle date australiane, hanno registrato il tutto esaurito in un batter d’occhio, spingendo SIENNA ad annunciare ulteriori date, che hanno anch’esse registrato il tutto esaurito — per un totale di 135.000 biglietti venduti. La data italiana è prevista il 27 marzo 2027 al Fabrique di Milano è SOLD OUT.
“Great Expectation”, un brano soul-pop dal tono malinconico con un ritornello travolgente e abbellimenti orchestrali, attinge direttamente ai temi di “Visitor” relativi alla resilienza personale di fronte all’abbandono. Un riff di pianoforte da giornata piovosa si sviluppa progressivamente in un suono coinvolgente suonato dall’intera band, mentre SIENNA si immerge nel ritornello struggente: “Se la felicità è solo un’illusione, tu sei stato il meglio che io abbia mai avuto / Se non puoi essere ciò che desidero, e le cose che dici non sono vere / Tutto ciò di cui ho bisogno è la grande aspettativa che ripongo in te”.
“‘Great Expectation’ parla di un periodo in cui vivevo a New York da poco e parlavo con una persona che continuava a dire che sarebbe venuta a trovarmi”, racconta Sienna parlando del suo nuovo singolo. “Ogni mattina, scendevo le scale del palazzo e, per un attimo, credevo davvero che lui fosse lì fuori ad aspettarmi. Poi passavo i cinque minuti successivi camminando per strada immaginando cosa gli avrei detto, come mi sarei sentita, cosa sarebbe successo se fosse stato davvero lì. Non è mai venuto. La canzone ha finito per riguardare meno quella persona in particolare e più l’aspettativa in sé. Che sia qualcosa di bello o semplicemente un modo per prepararsi a rimanere delusi. Ho scritto questa canzone perché, nel profondo, sapevo che non sarebbe mai stato ciò che volevo e che convivere con l’idea di lui era più sicuro che non avere nulla.”
